Welcome to the Thornton le Dale Village Hall Website

Picturesque and popular, Thornton le Dale lies 2 miles east of Pickering on the edge of the North York Moors National Park.

Our Village hall, one of the largest in Ryedale, is set just off the main village centre and is a hub of community activities. We offer flexible, centrally heated facilities at an affordable price. The premises, which are wheelchair accessible, comprise a large Main Hall, a smaller ‘Committee Room’, a fully functional kitchen, and computer projector and wall mounted screen.

Outside with access from the side of the building, car park or main hall, there is a large lawn with picnic tables, a boules court, and a small Memorial Garden.

The village itself is very welcoming, and well served with a general store, a bakery and icecream shop, a newspaper and hardware store, 2 pubs, several cafés, a fish and chip and a pizza shop, a bike sale/repair and hire shop, computer services, as well as ample B&B’s and holiday cottages. Outside catering is easily available in the village

Our Village Hall (Registered Charity no 1109170) is run by volunteers from the village who manage the facility for the use of residents, local organisations and the greater community.  It is situated on the main road some two miles from Pickering towards Scarborough, and offers flexible, affordable facilities to suit a wide range of activities and interests.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to the many friends, volunteers and contractors who have contributed to the upkeep and maintenance of the grounds and premises.
